July 29, 2012 Gidday!!

Hi everybody!! :) It's Elder Devey again! Well things are going good here what can I say?! Hope everyone back home is doing awesome!! I miss and love you all very very much!! I continually pray for all of you and hope that the Lord continues to watch over you and bless you abundantly!! So this week has been a crazy one! our last pday was pretty lame! Didn't really get up to much. But Tuesday was really good! A part-member family came to church and told us to come baptize their two kids who hadn't been baptized yet! So we're like, um ya we can do that! We went over and taught the two kids on Tuesday and they were keen as! They're awesome! And we set them for baptism for in a couple of weeks! Miracles aye?! Too bad I won't be there to see it but it's all good!! On Tuesday some of the families had me over for their last feeds and things! Went to a Tongan family named the Sikea's. They gave me a mean Tongan gift! This massive wall decoration thing called a Tangutapu I think? But it's way cool!! :) After that we saw some converts, saw Tania, Rebecca and Mata'anu. They got me quite a lot! A cool cocunut ukelele, some cook island necklaces and lava lavas and so forth! It was a fun last night with them I love them so much!! It was really weird but since the airport is in our area we always help out heaps with taking missionaries to and from the airport. We took some missionaries home which was pretty hard because I have become close to quite a lot of them! All the missionaries that just went home in that last intake were all so awesome! I served around heaps of them and got to know them all very well! It was hard to see them go! And we had to go pick up a sister at the mission home and we were there when some of the families and parents came to pick up their sons or daughters from the mission home! That was super weird to see! Got me a bit excited not gonna lie!! ;) My last day in Thomas rd ward!! Oh the beautiful land of Mangere!! :) We had some last little lesson/get togethers with converts and members! Had a feed with a Niuean family, the Taula's. Who of course gave some Niuean gifts! :) Also Nancy and the daughters! Those sweethearts! Saw Emi, etc etc! Just popped in on a lot and said some last goodbyes! I love that ward so much!! The converts there, the members, the people overall!! I miss it so much it's not even funny!! Hands down my favorite area of the mission!! :) But I'll be visiting them soon anyways so it's all good!! Some of the hardest goodbyes were at transfers... Former companions that we knew wouldn't see each other again we all had to part ways.. Some I'll be able to visit again but there's those couple where I don't think it would happen. Elder Losalu and Afa.. My two tongan brothers.. I dunno when I would see them again. They don't even have emails or addresses or anything where they stay in Tonga!! I've drawn so close to these two! They are some of my best friends for sure! Their stories are so amazing as well.. Joining the church was a huge sacrifice for these two. It's men like these that have caused this church to soar. Both got disowned by family and had to live on their own before their missions. And right at a year mark they left all and came to the mission field. Elder Losalu lived nearby Elder Afa and even baptized him because he was baptized just prior. They then both got their mission calls same time to the same mission. They both will go home together and I have been companions with both of them. One on Niue the other in Mangere. They go home a couple of weeks before me due to visas so that was the last time I'd see those two... It was probably the hardest goodbye of my mission yet.. I'll miss those guys I love em so much!!! :( In their broken english:) they told me they'd see me in the celestial kingdom.. Oh the mission!! Just jam packed of changes and hard goodbyes!! There's nothing like it!! You fall in love with so many people out here!! Such beautiful people I've been able to meet out here on my mission. People that forever have impacted and changed my life. People I will never forget and whom I will hold forever dear in my heart..How grateful I am for them and for all they've done for me.. Well enough of this sad business!! :) So transfers happened and I got my new companion! Elder Luamanuvae!! Straight from Samoa!! I've had samoan companions but they were plastic because they came from aus or nz! He's straight from the island! I even was talkin to Elder Whipple how I've had almost every other Islander so this was bound to happen and it did!! :) Awesome aye?! He's the man as well! So obedient and willing! English isn't the best but he's determined to work hard! I just pray I don't get in his way! Studies are crazy now because it's some new trainer program which wasn't there when I first trained. So there's an additional hour of comp study and plus he has his language study so we're in the flat for ages I hate it!!! haha but it's all good! He's soaking it all up! Hopefully I can teach him everything I know! :) The new area is insane!!! SOOOOOO beautiful!!! But MASSIVE!!! And we don't have near enough ks it's ridiculous!! We cover Warkworth branch, Hibuscus ward and Torbay ward. Arguably the richest areas of our mission and it's just the two of us!! I'm a south aucks boy and love the islanders with all my heart!! So this is being a bit difficult to get used to! Prideful white people!! haha But it's all good!! The members are absolutely lovely!! Very fun!! But ya in these 3 wards and branches over the last couple years there has been 1 possibly 2 baptisms over all!! :( The last weekend in south aucks we just baptized 3!!! So this is gonna take some getting used to! The members were shocked to see missionaries! It's been a long time! haha so this is definately that "Mountain to Climb" as President Eyring speaks of! It's funny but I asked for this too! Not only to President but in prayers that I'd be given an ending that would force me to work hard and finish strong! Well I learned that two-fold lesson as well!! So I'll do my best and hope and pray all works together for our good!!!:) The members have been helping heaps and that's been a great blessing! There's potential that's for sure we've just got to find it!! We've met up with heaps of the members trying to get things rolling. They have fed us well! haha we've gotten lost heaps and we don't have a cell phone which I'm not used to!! We've had some funny experiences as always!! We've been grateful or lucky to even teach anything!! lol :) The ward mission leaders in both wards are super onto it and they've been helping heaps!! Than on Sunday in both wards we had to give that big mission-wide combined 3rd hour training that I've already done in the South! So that was exciting as well!! They'd thrown us in the deep end I'd say!! haha It's interesting I'm used to members that will drop anything to help us or let us in! We've had members, even members! (One of them being a bishop) who turned us away at their doors!! haha Not saying the members are mean! Just not used to the white folk!! That's for sure! And the people we talk to on the streets they're definately quick to let us know if they're interested or not!! haha :) But we've been loving it! It feels so lonely though! We're far away and I'm used to being around missionaries ALL the time!! Trade offs phone calls etc etc!! Now no messages on phone, no cell phone, no random errands to be done, just me and my Samoan!! :) But the area is SOOOO beautiful!! One of the best beaches in NZ and the houses are rich as! Everyone is so proper and intelligent!! The ward was actually doctrinally sound which I'm not used to!! haha just kiddin! No more funny talks!! Everyone's so serious! No loud laughters and screaming and joking around. Just handshakes no hugs!! haha It's a change!! But I'll get used to it!! The members really are SOOO good though!! Just haven't served in an area like this!! It's a lot different but we're excited!!! :) For pday not sure what we're gonna do today! Probably check out some beaches!! Well love you guys soooo much have a great week!!! :) ALOFA ATU!!! Love Elder Devey

July 22, 2012

Kia Ora Whanau!!!! :) Guess who?! It's Elder Devey!!! Hello everyone!! My vast audience back home!! haha jokes! Good to be chattin with ya'll again!! Hope you all had another wonderful week and that the Lord is just blessing you like crazy right now!! Cause he sure is!! Just gotta look for it!! I love you all!!! Just wanted you to know that!!! :) Well what another beautiful week!! Let's get started shall we?! So first of all we had heaps of miracles this week!! Things that we did not think would happen but they did!! Well first of all monday was pretty fun! We basically didn't do anything but just makin the most of what we were doing! We just sat around and passed a rugby ball around for like 4 hours!! It was awesome!! haha not really but it was good! Did yet another trade off on Tuesday as always!! In my old area Papatoetoe 1st one elder finished his mission and the other got sent out so we have been double covering that area with ours:) Which we totallydon't mind! Mine and Elder Whipster's old area! So that has been fun!! So we had a feed with the Fatupaito family! How I love those old Samoans so much! The cat is outta the bag to say the least that I'm finishing soon! And both of these areas are planning all these things for me before I go it's awesome! haha with gifts or feeds or what nots! Sis Fatupaito is trying to book the chapel for when my parents are here to have a Fiafia! haha :) So that'll be cool!! That night we got a call from President.. Looks like he's got new plans for me once again!! A little background on the story! So awhile back I got a good impression that at the very end of my mission something different would happen. I felt strongly that I would kinda get away from all of this leadership and train at the very end again. I thought about it for awhile and could definantely see the benefits that would come from it. It would help me to finish strong and keep me focused. I could easily see that if I stayed here with Elder Whipple that I could have finished on a level that I would not wanna be upon. So I expressed these thoughts to President in our interview a bit ago and he said he'd take it to the Lord. Well turns out that he has a special assignment for me. I'm no longer a zone leader or a leader of any sort and I'm going to be double-shifted again to train a new missionary. I'm going to Hibiscus, Wellsford, Wark worth and Torbay. An area that is massive!! It's at some of the richest areas of our mission and has been closed for a LONG time due to no success with previous missionaries. Well he wants me to go and in 6 weeks to do all that I can to get it pumping with my new missionary!! Feels like the ol days at the beginning of mymission with Elder Espino in Tauranga! Oh by the way he's the new Assistant! haha But anywho so President and I feel this would be a great way for me to finish strong and togo back to the asphalt! I'm SOOOO excited but kinda nervous as well!! :) So there's the news! Kinda sad because I love this area sooooo much.... Our investigators, the members, Elder Whipple it's been my favorite... But Iknow that this is what needs to happen! The conditioning as they call it in sports. Or the deep incline before reaching the summit.. It begins this Thursday.. So here we go!!! Chee hooo!!! :) So there's some exciting news! But that's not all of it!! So the members all here think I'm going home this Thursday it's pretty funny!! In church on Sunday, at both wards, here and my former Pap 1st they had me give last second talks to say goodbye and bear my testimony which was really hard... It's started hitting me pretty hard lately that it's here at the end.. Just one more transfer and this beautiful chapter of my life will be closed!! I don't like it! It's gone way too fast!! Emotions have been on the surface.. I feel like momma lately I just cry so easy!! haha so those testimonies were pretty tough to give!! I love the mission so much I don't ever want to say goodbye.. Elder Whipple and I had a special moment this week that was very fond to me. He is one that still says he is unsure that God lives. In a lesson he bore a powerful testimony and within it said things that mattered very much to me. He spoke of a blessing I gave him a long time ago when we weren't companions and he spoke of how after receiving a blessing from a dear friend he came to know fully that God did love him and was very aware of him. That's when he came to know.. It was a special moment and it meant the world to me! I love the guy to death! Members have already started givin gifts and gettin things ready for me haha Islanders are the coolest people ever.. They're so faithful, so loving and so believing!! No place better than the Pacific!! On Friday we had heaps of miracles that we didn't even think would happen!!! :):):) So Sister Fosio miraculously got baptized!! She was my very first lesson in the area 6 months ago and after things went south and I saw the desire of her husband getting her baptized and being sealed in the temple I told him that before I left the area I promised him she would be baptized.. Turns out my verylast weekend in the area she got baptized!!!! Even though she was like 40 minutes late it happened!! Up even to that moment of her entering the water we did not think it was gonna happen and than she finally showed up and it happened!! After me and Brother Fosio baptized he was just ecstatic in the bathroom... It made it all worth it.. The beginning of an eternal family.. I love them so much.. It's so amazing to see the Lord's hands in his children's lives.. It was beautiful!! But not just sweet Sister Pule Fosio got baptized!! Nancy's daughters got baptized!! Tenaya and Alex!! :) We've tried so hard and finally they did!! I baptized Nancy and confirmed her also so she asked if I could do the same for the girls. It was yet another wonderful experience!! So these 3 wonderful sisters were baptized this weekend and most of it all occured on Friday! Especially Tenaya! Literally an hour before the baptism Nancy called and Tenaya had a change of heart and wanted to get baptized with her sister so we organized a quick interview ran and got the whites and she got baptized as well!! Amazing aye?! How I love this work!! I'ts just incredible I can't get over it!! Another beautiful experience at that baptism was while baptizing her daughters I looked to Nancy in the doorway and she was crying.. She's an awesome lady and I have drawn very closeto this family.. So fun to see on my last weekend here:) So Sunday they were all confirmed and welcomed warmly into the Thomas Rd ward:) Than I gave my last little testimony.. I've had enough of these goodbyes!! The mission is full of them and it's so hard!! It's amazing how nameless faces, strangers can become your best friends.. So many people who are very dear to me live here in New Zealand and the islands.. I will never forget them.. Well I love you all very much and miss you dearly and am looking forward to seeing you soon.. I love you!!!! :) Love Elder Devey:) OFA LAHI ATU!!!!!

July 15, 2012 Kia Ora!

Hi everybody!!! :) Another week down!! Can't believe it!! They're just gone in a blink of the eye!! Well I miss you all heaps!! It's been far too long!! Thank you for everything that you do in my behalf and for your support and prayers! I'm very grateful for it all! It has been incredible support and encouragement throughout my entire mission and for that I will be forever thankful so thank you so much!! :) Well what can I say?! Another wonderful week that's for sure!! Monday was super fun!! I would send ya pictures of the festivities but I forgot my cord today. But we changed things up a bit and we went to the driving range close to the airport. It was super fun! Almost been two years since I swung a golf club! But what can I say? I still got it! haha actually I don't know if I ever had it whatever it is! But it was super fun that's for sure! :) Somethin a bit different and exciting to change things up! Every pday has been basically the same so it was good to do something different! That evening was quite fun in our area as well! We definately were put in the right place at the right time! So a little background on some stories that have occured in this area is that at the beginning of my mission I actually was in this area for about 3 weeks and than right before Niue I stayed here as well for a weekend. The airport is in our area so that's why! But in those times I met heaps of the people in our area. Even got to see some baptized but now that I've been back we've had some success in re-activating a few of these families that were baptized prior that I met as they were investigating. We had a special moment on monday night with the Culham family who clearly needed us. Gave a priesthood blessing as well. Now they are doing so awesome! :) So that was a miracle and was wonderful to see and we were grateful to go and help them! The Lord always puts us right in the right place at the right time it's amazing! So that was a fun monday night I really love all those guys in that house! Tuesday was really good as well! We had another tradeoff as always! Those are starting to wear me out that's for sure! Oh well gotta keep going! :) We had a super busy day! Mowin more lawns in our proselytin clothes cuz we don't got time to change yo!! haha and I like it that way because heaps of people see us and notice! For example it was funny that day when we were doing that the Jehovah Witnesses were door knocking that very same street. And there were quite a few people around and we seemed to catch their attention. It's just a thing of pride thinking to myself, which looks like the true church? I'm sure those whom would be serving as the Savior would:) Who better than the missionaries!!! We're in our suits with a wead wacker and mower gettin dirty but loving it!! We've had heaps of spontanious service projects since the Whipster has been here, he's born for that stuff!! So it's been way fun!! :) We had meetings with our stake presidents this week as well which was pretty exciting as always I suppose!! :) On Wednesday we also had interviews with President!! Yay!! haha It was really good!! During the entire zone getting interviewed we gave a training the whole time. So that was even more exciting! lol it was pretty fun I guess! Interviews were awesome! I've really come to love our mission President, he's amazing!! Than on thursday we did more trade offs!! The weeks are just so similar and go by so fast! Yet so many memorable things occur and such wonderful experiences as well!! Feels like not much has happened but also feels like it was just jam packed with stuff ya know what I'm sayin?! :) Got to go to my old area in Papatoetoe 1st again!! I love going back to old areas it's so much fun!! :) This saturday was another high baptizing saturday where we lived off of baptism feeds! ha Just going around to all the baptisms all day! Than at the end of the night we got in a hard out bible bash with this guy that has been investigating for years! Not sounding prideful but we confounded him on every angle! haha quite an intelligent guy, but all you need is the bible and you can set anyone straight which we did! lol usually we don't waste our time with stuff like that cuz there's to many souls out there! But the guys brother was very keen and sincere so we were trying to help him and focus on him! And this other guy was just trying to lay into us so we were like alright let's go brotha! haha It's fun testin your knowledge, the scriptures and of course most importantly your testimony is what gets anyone who is trying to put the church down to be silenced:) haha Throughout my mission I've met some pretty crazy and interesting people.. It's so sad to see how they've been misled and deceived. And it's such fundamental doctrines and principles that they're confused upon! It's like come on people!! Open up those eyes and see the truth! It's obvious!! There is so many churches here it's ridiculous! I've taught ministers, priests, you name it! Some whom have just created their church weeks prior! It's ridiculous I tell ya! But I do love how believing the people are and how strong their faith is in Christ. When the restoration is taught properly and understood and the spirit is present wow miracles happen here!! We see it everyday and I love it more than anything!! :) Sunday was a great Sabbath day! That was a special sacrament meeting for me..:) We also had a fireside that evening which was really good!! So ya things are going great here as always!! Elder Whipple and I have set quite a goal.. So before Sept 1, assuming we're still together in a week, we want to baptize 20 more souls before I go home!!! Whhhooooweeee!!! Quite a lofty goal but we know it can be done!! We have about 8 people set for baptism right now so we've been working harder than we ever have before!! This is for the purpose of getting me to finish strong and also to bring more of our brothers and sisters into the fold of the good Shepherd!! So we'll see how that goes!!! So please pray for us!! We hope to bring as many as possible unto Christ!!! Well I love you all very much and hope you have another wonderful week! And may the Lord watch over you in all that you do and may he pour out abundantly his blessings unto you! I love you all very much!!! :) OFA LAHI ATU!!!! :) Elder Devey

zone leader conference

July 8, 2012

Allllooooohaaaa!! Gday!!! :) This be Elder Devey here grateful to be back on yet another preperation day! Always love to simply let ya'll know how much i love you all and how much I care for every single one of you! You are always in my prayers and I continue to hope the best for all of you!! What can I say?! This week was yet another great one! It was sweet as! As they say! Things going good here as always! We had quite a lot of trade offs this last week! We've been working with our missionaries heaps and helping them. It's been way good! Except I'm like the oldest missionary in the zone and soon to be the oldest zone leader in the mission! I feel so stinkin old and also like I don't know any of these missionaries! All the ones I was really close to have been long gone except for some of my companions that I've built strong friendships with. So it's really weird! But it's all good! I guess I have been here this long.. Still feels like I just came out! Never before have I seen two years move by so fast... But the blessing is it's still not over!! I still got time to go hard!! :) When I get off that escalator back home i wanna collapse in front of everyone! lol I'm doing my best to leave it all on the court! Hopefully he has been pleased with my service! Well!! How bout I tell ya about this week? What do ya say? So pday was alright nothin to exciting or epic I guess! But quite decent really! Had a little trade off that night to make things exciting! I went with my good ol Niuean companion Elder Losalu! My faithful tongan!! It was way fun! It's amazing to see the progression he has made he is incredible! So we had fun savin souls that night! :) Tuesday was a really good day! Went to district meetings as always and did our thing! And it just started pouring!!! A few days this week it was going hard!! Sometimes when it rains here oh man it can rain!! So that was exciting!! lol feel bad for those missionaries on bikes! Especially feel really bad when the sister missionaries are out bikin around while we're in our little blue yaris cruisin around! ha poor sisters! So tuesday was pretty good! Also we were over in Papatoetoe taken care of some things for the missionaries so we thought we'd pop in and surprise Junior and Allison my converts from almost a year ago! :) I've caught up with Junior here and there but I haven't seen Allison since I was in the area! She was absolutely pumped!! It was so good to see them and to be with them!! They are going to be sealed in the temple for sure the same week as my birthday and me and Elder Whipple get to go along!! :):):) Elder Whipple came into Papatoetoe a bit after i left but his claim to them is that he re-activated them! haha not true they've been soldiers since they were baptized! But they like him as well so they were more than excited to have us go along! And it was also special we gave little Vincent a priesthood blessing because he wasn't feeling well. And Junior has had the Melchizedek Priesthood for quite along time now but it was special to see him give his son a blessing... I just love them soooo much!!! :) They both have callings in the ward and it's all good!! :) So that was really fun to catch up with them and to hear the good news! Miracles!! The members have been awesome lately!! We've received quite a lot of referrals and they're all really good as well! Heaps of potential baptisms!! So we're pretty pumped about that!! July 4th wasn't too exciting!! haha We had our Zone Leader Council which was really fun! But during the middle of it we had to take off cuz Elder Whipple had to go to the doctors. So we missed lunch and apparently they did a cake and everything and sang American songs! haha So we missed out on the little celebration but it's all good! Councils are always fun! The rest of the day was pretty good! Just applyin what we learned! The next day we went on another trade off! I went with the Utah Utes coach's son Elder Whittingham!! haha:) It was way fun!! He's the man we get along very well and had a lot of fun together! So that was really fun!! Let's see what else?! Well fridays are always pretty lame because we're inside for a good chunk of the day planning! So we got fed up with it and went out and did heaps of service!! It was way good! Elder Whipple absolutely loves doin service! So we've done quite a lot! So we mowed quite a few lawns! Even people that refused to us prior we just showed up and did it anyways! It was really good and everyone was very grateful for it! :) Saturday was pretty good as well! Went to some baptisms in the zone and saved souls!!! :) There's this market in our area every saturday and there is always heaps of people and we were around this alley way that everyone uses to get over there and we just talked to heaps!!! I love just goin hard preachin and teachin on the streets! Met some really good keen people that we're hopin to baptize soon! So that was pretty exciting!! :) Sunday was very good as well! Quite a lot of people came to church which was a blessing and a miracle in itself! Members bringing non-members as well that we are now teaching! :) it's been good!! Than we had more feeds with members as always! Stuffin us silly!! More lessons and all that good stuff! So it was a really good Sunday!! :) I know I've told ya bout the diet before. Well I wasn't to committed I just love the island food so much dang it! ha but now it's super legit! Elder Whipple has to because of his body and such. So he's got this strict diet program and we even got a member to go buy us food that matched the criteria! ha I've never seen so much green in a missionaries flat! It's been ridiculous! We're eatin way healthy now! Except when we're on trade off and I get away from him than I do my usual! haha But it's been really good i suppose! Hopefully I'm losin weight! We'll see! Today for pday we're thinkin of hittin a nearby driving range! That'll be a lot of fun!! :) Besides that not much else to update you guys on! Just know that I love you all and hope you have a great week!!! :) Love Elder Devey

July 1. 21012

Hello hello!!!! :) Hi everyone! How is it going?! Sounds wonderful for everyone as always! Which is pleasing unto me! Hope and pray that the Lord continues to bless you all and watch over you in all that you do! Well this week, what can I say?! Another good one!! Experienced heaps of miracles! But what's new?! This is his work right?! So let's get started shall we?! From the top Monday was all goods! Just a usual pday I guess! Went and played sport with all the cocunuts! :) cheehoo!! Played some basketball mostly! So that was fun as always! Tuesday was a lot of fun! We went on trade off as usual! Experienced quite a few miracles though. So my last baptism up in Whangarei with Brownie King his mom died and she lives down here in the zone. So he requested for some elders to come by and to give him a blessing because he was really having a hard time coping with this loss. So we were blessed to go and to assist him in the circumstance. He was shocked to see me and it all went so well! :) It's amazing how the Lord works.. So I was blessed to give him a priesthood blessing and spirits were high when we departed. So we were very grateful for that experience and it was so good to see him again and to help him once again. It's incredible how the Lord calls his servants to particular areas to bless certain individuals. Brownie feels to be one of those. Good man who has been through a whole lot! And of course after we were finished he played us a song just like the old days!! :) So that was one great experience that occured this week! That same day we had another miracle that was on accident! haha So a boy named Tufi we've been trying to baptize for awhile now! haha his family is a bit lessactive and he never got baptized, so we've been working on getting the family back to church and to get this little squirt baptized! So on Tuesday we finally had a lesson with him and a week before we set him to be baptized for july 6. But while we were there for some reason i thought it was this weekend! haha and with the fam I was just like setting up the baptism and stuff and got him all worked out for this weekend just gone and just like that he was baptized and confirmed this weekend! lol :) So started teaching him and within a week he gets baptized just like that!! Miracles!!!! So that was quite the tender mercy given to us by the Lord!! :) The members have been doing awesome lately!! Theyve been doing so much for us! We've been receiving lots of referrals, and really good ones to!! :) I love this ward it has been so much fun serving here! Than on Wednesday after we get back from our tradeoffs we have to head way past North Shore to see a doctor forElder Whipple. So that took a bit of the day runnin that errand. He has some issues with his body ha! Than right when we get back to our area President Lekias calls and just asks what were up to. We're like saving souls duh?! What else?! haha and he's like can I come with?! So President came with us for the day! That was super fun! :) We went and saw our set Sefo, for this coming weekend, and his mom and we had a fun as lesson with them and President! President's incredible! It was way fun having him with us! We overcame quite a few concerns with Sefo and thought he was all ready for this weekend.. Next minute! He takes off again! Runs away for a second time!! Joke aye?! So we'll see what happens there, but the plan was for this coming weekend!! Than on Thursday we did us another trade off!! Just tradeoffs all the time it's wearing me out!!! But I love it at the same time!! Had a fun day there with my Tongan friend! It was a good, solid, productive day! I think I already told ya about our new WardMissionLeader Feleti Fukafuka! He's the man!! He has been working with us heaps! He's really onto it and is so willing to help us out we love him!! So it's been really good having him around to help us out with everything! um...let's see, what else?! On Saturday morning we're all getting things sussed out for Tufi's baptism and than we get a text from the mom saying that it's gonna be cancelled cause of family issues that were happening. So we drive over there have a good talk with her and smash her concerns and by the end she was determined as ever to get our little champ baptized! so the show went on!! :) That evening he was baptized! Love the little guy! :) Than we had a feed with the Stake President and all that good jazz! Tongan so of course he gave us heaps!! On Sunday we did the confirmation for Tufi! and than I was supposed to give a baby blessing for our recent convert Tania's son! But it didn't happen! That woulda been fun though, maybe next week! During the third hour of church we had a combined meeting that is happening all throughout the mission where we gave a training to the entire ward!! There was HEAPs of people there! But it was really fun!! Just drilled em on missionary work and helpin us out!! :) So hopefully we see fruits from that!! So Sunday was really good!! And what made it even better was the last minute "blanket sweep" miracle!! So when I first came into the area I used to teach this Samoan Lady named sister Fosio! But things didn't work out and we let her sit for awhile! Well the Lord has been working at her and softening her heart like none other! And just recently we have felt strongly to go give her a try again! Her husband is the newly called Elders Quorum President. He has tried so hard on his sweet wife it's incredible! So we had a lesson with them last night and she was so ready! And to make it even better it was his birthday!!! :) and we set her for baptism on the 21 of july!! Manna from heaven!!! :) So that just sealed off the week just right!! It was a pretty awesome week and having fun being with Elder Whipple!! :) What more can I ask for?! Things are going great and we just continue onward with putting our shoulder to the wheel!! Well I love you all SOOOO much and hope you have a great week!!! :) Love Elder Devey
